Suffering children of the Congo's war

A decade of fighting in the Democratic Republic of Congo is continuing to kill about 45,000 people each month - half of them small children. The children of this war ravaged country are the ones who suffer the most. Lack of infrastructure and medical supplies makes it very difficult for newborns to live past five year of age. About 270/1000 children die under the age of five. Other developed countries the average death of children under five is 6/1000. Many of these deaths can be prevented with simple vaccines and a clean water and food supply.
