The Affects of The Civil War in Congo

The Democratic Republic of Congo has a new government. The people of this country don't know how it's going to work. The country has very little infrastructure to support the number of people there. Most of these people were refugees of the Rawanda Gendcide fleeing to find safety in the Congo. Gonga is the city of over six hundred thousand people in the eastern part of Democratic Republic of Congo this is where the U.N. has chosen its headquarters for this country. Hundreds of thousands of people have fled to this city to get protection from the U.N. peace keepers. The Tutsi rebel group led by general Laurent Nkunda and the Rwandan Hutu group continue to raid and kill the refugees. The children of the Republic of Congo are the most affected by the war because their village gets raided by the rebel groups and their parents get killed or get taken by the rebel groups. This means there are an increased number of child refugees in the refugee camps.
